3. What is a cookie?

5. Why does Michelin use cookies?

8. What types of cookies are used by Michelin?

According to their retention period
- “Session” cookie: this is a cookie that is deleted when the user closes the browser.
- “Persistent” cookie: this is a cookie that remains on the user’s computer/device for a predefined period after the browsing session has ended. Michelin determines the cookie retention period according to what is proportionate in relation to the purpose pursued and limits this period to what is necessary, in compliance with the maximum retention period provided for by applicable regulations. In this case, the lifetime of a cookie may not exceed 13 months after it is placed.
According to their origin
- “First-party” cookies: these are placed directly by Michelin or its service providers.
- “Third-party” cookies: these are placed by partners authorised by Michelin, such as an advertising network. When they use cookies, these third-party partners are responsible for the cookies they implement. We invite you to consult their cookie management policies. You may also use their own consent collection and management tools to configure your preferences.
According to their main purposes
Cookies may serve several purposes. The names of these purposes may vary from one operator to another. They may be grouped into the categories defined below.
Strictly necessary cookies
